Three Days of Pure Cinema
From August 13 to 15, 2027, our schedule will bring together selected works from around the world across four core areas:
Official Screenings: Block programming of Feature Films, Short Films, Documentaries, and Experimental Cinema.
Awards Ceremony: The closing gala recognizing outstanding talent across all official categories.

Professional Live Execution
While our team brings over 6 years of international festival organization experience to curate and manage the event, the live projections and venue operations are handed over directly to Mcrystal Cinemas.

Every category winner will be officially awarded and provided with digital assets to celebrate their achievement:

Official Winner's Diploma: An official certificate of achievement endorsing your film or script's success at the Lagos Film Festival 2027.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the category limits for duration and scripts?
Short Films must be up to 60 minutes, Short Scripts up to 30 pages, Feature Films over 60 minutes, and Feature Scripts over 30 pages.
Can I submit a film in a language other than English?
Yes, we accept films in all languages. However, if the main dialogue is not in English, your project must include English subtitles. Scripts in other languages must be translated into English.
Can I submit multiple projects?
Yes. You may submit as many films or scripts as you like, but each project requires its own separate submission form and entry fee.
Social Media Promotion
How does the Guaranteed Social Media Spotlight work?
Every project submitted (if you opt-in during submission) gets a dedicated promotional post on our official social media channels. We will highlight your official poster, synopsis, director/writer credits, and social media handles.
Does social media promotion mean my film is selected for the festival?
No. The promotional spotlight is an immediate benefit provided to all submitted projects to help boost creator visibility. Official Selection status is determined separately by our programming committee.
Festival & Attendance
When will the Official Selection be announced?
The list of selected films competing and screening at the festival will be officially announced in August 2027.
Do I need to attend the festival in person if my film is selected?
While we strongly encourage filmmakers to join us in Lagos to experience the energy of Nollywood and meet our audiences, attendance is not mandatory for your film to be screened and judged. All attendees from outside the country must notify us of their attendance as far in advance as possible.
